About the Class
Culinary Arts is a 2-year program that enables students to attain their potential as individuals, family members, citizens and wage earners. Culinary Arts I & II emphasizes food production and management skills while providing training and education to prepare students to enter the food-service industry. Students will also have to opportunity to earn their ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification, enabling them to advance their careers in the culinary field and management positions.
Topics covered in Culinary Arts I include safety and sanitation, table service and setting, recipe use, teamwork and food production. Topics covered in Culinary Arts II include food production, cake decorating, garnishing, meats, poultry and fish, menu planning and nutrition and career education.
